Creating a Safety Data Sheets (SDS): from A to Z

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is a key tool for protecting human health and the environment during the use, storage and disposal of chemical products. Its preparation is governed by Annex II of the REACH Regulation, which defines a standard structure consisting of 16 sections, each containing specific and clearly defined information.

Compliance with these requirements is essential not only to ensure the safe handling and use of products throughout the entire supply chain, but also to avoid sanctions and enforcement measures that could have a significant impact on a company.

During the webinar, an expert will explain step by step how to prepare an SDS in compliance with the applicable legislation, leaving nothing to chance. By the end of the session, participants will have acquired the following knowledge and skills:

• Use of EPY software for SDS preparation: presentation of the step-by-step method, from substances to the finished product;
• Use of the Chemfinder module to search for and select substance data, as well as guidance on alternative sources of substance information, both online and through supplier-provided SDSs;
• Essential checks to ensure SDS consistency and completeness, including cross-checks between sections and the correct indication of emergency contact numbers;
• Overview of other relevant product regulations to be considered for SDS compliance purposes (e.g. detergents, paints, etc.).
